JOB PURPOSE
The Project Engineer (PE) will be responsible for providing overarching technical coordination and leadership for program specific engineering efforts. Efforts will be focused toward integration for military communications and weapons systems. The PE will lead a design team to perform, prepare, review, analyze, and modify system designs, and technical documents of military equipment to ensure customer requirements are satisfied.
*This is a hybrid position

JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
  • Conduct systems / system of systems architecture design, testing, implementation, integration, review, and certification activities Generate and review system hardware documentation
  • Development and baseline of program integrated master schedules.
  • Update and maintain activity progress, risks, and milestones using MS Project and other scheduling software.
  • Participate in integrated product teams and engineering/design reviews
  • Conduct data analyses, interpret, and summarize results.
  • Conduct technical requirements definition / allocation
  • Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
  • Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication
  • Develop technical documentation, to include test plans and reports.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Education:
  • 4 year post secondary education, or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Systems, IT Business Systems, or Business Administration
Required:
  • This position requires an existing U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the Secret level. Individual must be able to maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for employment. U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Travel may be required as needed

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Ten (10) years or more specialized experience in AEGIS Ashore/AEGIS BMD (AA/ABMD) systems engineering process including requirements definition, requirements traceability and alignment to PEO C4I programs of record
  • 3+ years of experience with using Microsoft Project to develop, maintain and resource load schedules including the use of Gantt Charts and Milestone Professionals to develop presentations
    Strong leadership, project engineering, and design skills
  • Exceptional presentation, oral and written communications skills required
  • Must have demonstrated experience in system integration, detailed system analysis, and risk and trade-off analysis
  • Experience with fabrication methods of sheet metal and machined parts
  • Strong technical, managerial, interpersonal, written and verbal skills are a must
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to provide direct interface with customers
  • Strong task delegation, multitasking, and time management skill
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project is essential

Preferred:
  • Master's Degree preferred
