We are currently seeking a talented individual to work as a transportation drainage and water resources lead engineer for design in our Denver, (Centennial), Colorado office. The ideal candidate is energetic, enthusiastic and has a can-do attitude. This position also offers opportunities to participate in professional organizations.

Essential duties include:

  • Manages and participates in the preparation of engineering plans and specifications for the design of stormwater management facilities including storm sewer systems, detention facilities, flood control facilities, channel restoration/rehabilitation, bridge hydraulics, culverts, and other hydraulic structures and facilities
  • Manages the preparation of transportation related hydrology and hydraulics studies, including Master Drainage Studies, Drainage Reports, and Bridge Hydraulics Reports
  • Leads the preparation of drainage design calculations and modeling to support design recommendations
  • Directs field studies, surveys, and data collection necessary to develop drainage concepts and construction documents
  • Assists in the preparation of proposals, scope of services, and contract cost estimates
  • Submits documents to federal, state, and local agencies for code compliance review and obtains permits required

Background requirements include:

  • Bachelor or Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must possess 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Requires a Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license, CFM certification is a plus
  • Experience with hydraulics and hydrology modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Hydraulic Toolbox, HY-8, Culvert Master, SMS/SRH2D
  • Proficiency with Microstation, InRoads Storm and Sanitary/OpenRoads
  • Prior experience working on projects with Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT)
  • Experience with the CLOMR/LOMR process
  • Experience with local municipal design methods, plan preparation, standards and specifications
  • Experienced in and fully capable of using the Microsoft software suite including Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point
  • Must be self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of project team
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills


Salary Range: Base Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location.
