MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) AND Three (3) years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting with responsibilities reflecting direct management of patient care including planning, coordination, and delivery of services OR;
Associate's Degree, Nursing (ASN) AND Five (5) years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting with responsibilities reflecting direct management of patient care including planning, coordination, and delivery of services.
2. Current West Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure.

1. Requires to independently manage the case load and reports data to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) according to established standards and deadlines.
2. Responsible for manual data entry and electronic file into software and web based applications.
3. Works with the hospital's IT department to obtain and establish data reports in a specified format that can be uploaded into these applications.
4. Actively engages in CMS activities and identifies opportunities to improve the quality of care in the inpatient and outpatient setting by working with physicians, nurses, other clinicians, and administrators to develop strategies to improve clinical performance.
5. Attends consortium-wide meetings and data abstractor meetings as a representative of the hospital, acting as a resource for clinical quality within the hospital, maintains regular contact with other clinical quality abstractors at other instructions, preparing for and being available to site audits by CMS, resolving data discrepancies, and responding to CMS requests in a timely fashion.
