Position Summary

The Food Science & Nutrition program at Allan Hancock College is seeking applications to develop a qualified pool of part-time faculty for in-person or online instructional vacancies. The assignment may include classes at the Santa Maria campus, Lompoc Valley Center, or online, as needed. Positions may be available during the Fall and Spring semesters, or summer session.


We are actively seeking candidates for an opening to teach the lecture section of the following course during the spring semester of 2024: FSN 134, Food, Nutrition, Customs and Culture. The lecture will be taught in-person at the Santa Maria campus on Tuesdays at 1:00-4:05 p.m. The spring semester will be in session from January 22 through May 22, 2024.

Essential Functions and Qualifications

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
* Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
* Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
* Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
* Teach all scheduled classes.
* Maintain accurate records.
* Assignments may include day, evening, or weekend classes.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in nutrition, dietetics or dietetics and food administration

OR

Bachelor's in any of the above

AND

Master's in chemistry, public health or family and consumer studies/home economics OR the equivalent


NOTE: A Bachelor's in nutrition, dietetics, or dietetics and food administration, and certification as a Registered Dietitian, is an alternative qualification for this discipline.

Additional Information

SALARY:
Lecture Rate: $57.72 to $77.18 per hour depending upon education and experience

Lab Rate: $50.28 to $67.20 per hour depending upon education and experience
Activity Rate: $37.13 to $50.62 per hour depending upon education and experience
