JOB TITLE: Payroll Specialist

FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Overtime eligible

Wage Grid: Accounting & Payroll Specialist

JOB LOCATION: Administration / Finance and Accounting

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for assisting with duties in Finance and Accounting Department.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Legend: E = Essential NE = Non Essential N/A = Not Applicable

  1. Analyze, prepare, and process payroll including entering related data into applicable software such as Paylocity, Nova Time, B-Swift, reconciling timesheet entries, tracking time off, organizing payroll and accounting files, etc.). E
  2. Assist and provide back-up and support for the department as needed. E
  3. Create, maintain, and update information files and records such as AP vendor files, employee payroll files, and general department records, etc.). E
  4. Ensure all work is accurate and follows all department and general accounting standards. E
  5. Attend meetings and professional development activities, as requested. E
  6. Establish and maintain good communication, collaboration, and cooperation with all vendors, co-workers, and clients. E
  7. Follow all duties of a mandated reporter. E
  8. Perform other related duties, as assigned. NE

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is generally performed in office setting. Minimal infrequent local travel.

REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager or designee

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other closely related field from an accredited college or university OR Three (3) years' experience working in an accounting, payroll, or related finance position.
  2. One (1) year experience in general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and/or general office experience.
  3. Neat orderly person with great organizational skills.
  4. Must be a "People Person" with a great disposition and outlook on life, who enjoys working with others, is upbeat and pleasant to work with and is a good listener.
  5. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  6. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours as needed.
  7. Excellent communication and documentation skills, written and verbal
  8. Must pass all background checks.
