As Business Development Manager, you'll identify new business opportunities to drive growth and revenue. You'll demonstrate significant influence and broad impact on the organization. You'll contribute to the strategic planning process, setting objectives, and making critical decisions driving incremental growth. You'll lead the sales team to create and execute strategic plans that align with company goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops new opportunities and ensures Novanta's success.
  • Building up new customer contacts as well as long-term customer relationship.
  • Negotiates contract and product pricing in collaboration with our Product Management team.
  • Drives accountability for plans/actions that build our brand within accounts.
  • Collaborates on key activities and developments with the targeted accounts to solidify account penetration strategies.
  • Coordinates Field Application Engineering support to accelerate the customer's development process.
  • Regular reporting and forecasting, maintain CRM database (Salesforce).
  • Provide feedback on changing customer demands or requirements.
  • Collect & provide market intelligence.

Requirements

  • Exceptional technical aptitude withB.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related degree
  • 8+ years of experience selling technical products directly to large corporate OEM accounts within the Healthcare Robotics and Life Sciences segments
  • Experience with motion control, industrial, medical or manufacturing automation products, applications and technology
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop and articulate value proposition to technical, commercial and executive-level decision makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly organized and process driven
  • Drive to win, desire to work with external and internal customers
  • Expert using CRM tools. Experience with Salesforce is preferred.

Travel Requirements

  • Must possess a US valid passport or Green Card and be able to travel internationally, if required. Requires up to 50% travel.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 per year depending on the geographic market
  • This position provides quarterly sales compensation based on achievement of the revenue plan.
