JCFS Chicago provides vital, individualized, results-driven, therapeutic and supportive services for thousands of children, adults and families of all backgrounds each year, facing challenges with life transitions, mental health, developmental/intellectual disability and basic human need.

JCFS is looking for talented and engaging individuals to provide supports to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in their home and community. The schedule Tuesday & Wednesday 4p-9p and Saturday 1p-9:15pm.

This position pays $17.50 hourly rate with increases based on proven relatable experience.

Requirements:

• 18 years of age
  * Technological skills
  * Must be able to pass the S-TOFHLA (literacy test)
  * High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  * Experience in the Human Services Field
  * Must be able to work weekends
  * Valid driver's license and clean safe driving record
  Preferred:
  * Experience supporting individuals with Autism

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Facilitate supports focusing on personal outcomes and independence
  * Support individuals in identifying community resources
  * Facilitate social experiences
  * Promote health and safety
  * Administer medication and follow through on procedures under RN and Rule 116 guidance
  * Facilitate medical appointments
  * Facilitate budgeting, shopping and cooking
  * Promote a well maintained home
• Facilitate basic home maintenance and furniture set up and assembly
• Take lead on ensuring a clean, sanitized and organized home
  * Facilitate transportation (agency vehicle or public transportation)
  * Respond to crisis effectively
  * Collaborate with service providers, community members and families
  * Complete and maintain DSP required trainings and certificates
  * Complete required documentation in a timely manner
  * Attend and contribute to team meetings
