Position Pay:
Base pay plus $0.35 job premium.
Position Summary:
The Shuttle Truck Driver is responsible for moving birds in a trailer from the holding shed to the scale and the hanging dock in a safe and effective manner.
Essential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:
This position will ensure birds get to the hanging dock on time and in a safe manner
The Shuttle Truck Driver will weigh trailers and pull them through the hanging dock.
Will also pull trailers to the scale and weighs them when empty before the trailer is washed.
Will be responsible for end of shift paperwork distribution.
Will ensure safety requirements are being followed for trucks and trailers.
Will maintain cleanliness of the trucks.
Accountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours.
Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety
issues/concerns.
Provide accurate and timely feedback to supervisor regarding any issues or problems that may arise.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to back trailers into holding sheds safely.
Must be able to learn how to operate truck scales and print tickets.
Must be able to count DOA's and complete appropriate forms.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions & policies.
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must pass a background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical.
Some positions may require the ability to read, write, and/or speak English.
Physical Requirements:
Standing (8 hours a day or more).
Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more).
Reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs).
Operating hand held and/or mechanical machinery.
Walking/climbing stairs. Gripping, grasping, and twisting using hands and wrists
Working Conditions/Department Description:
Hours follow typical department hours. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
There is mandatory seasonal work for approximately 5 to 6 weeks during the months of October and November, which includes working 7 days per week.
Job assignment is subject to the supervisor's discretion, and job duties may vary day-to-day depending on production needs.
May work in damp, cold, hot, and warm environments and some jobs work in seasonal outdoor conditions.
Work with loud and noisy machinery.
Work with or around chemicals/fumes/pungent odors.
May work around animal feces.
