Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for three primary objectives:
1) Seek to produce quality products for the least amount of cost
2) Create and maintain effective, easy to follow manufacturing documentation and instructions
3) Work with Quality organization to ensure compliance to government and customer requirements
Reports to: Plant Manager Location: Branford, CT
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Continuously drives production cost reduction initiatives through daily actions and project management
Finds innovative solutions through basic problem solving and advanced technology
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and facility layout
Ensures compliance to government and customer requirements - e.g. AS9100, NADCAP, etc.
Collaborates with Design Engineering and Business Development for successful new production implementation
Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services
Trains and guides technicians through manufacturing process development and improvement
Responsible for the development of engineering masters, manufacturing instructions, and other manufacturing documentation
Create and update process documentation to include production floor layouts and operating instructions
Design fixtures and tooling to facilitate pre-production testing and stable production processes
Perform PFMEA reviews for new and existing projects
Participates regularly in the review of production quality deficiencies and immediate corrective actions

Bachelor’s degree in engineering
