Job Title: Toolbuilder
Reports To: Tool Assembly Leader/Supervisor
Summary: The Toolbuilder is responsible for layout and build of mechanical components used on tooling for an individual project.
  1. Serves as a specialist on the mechanical assembly
  2. Ensure individual tasks are executed in the most effective manner in regard to time, cost and function
  3. Ensure assigned tooling is completed based on work requirements utilizing drawings, customer specifications and manuals as necessary
  4. Identify/Diagnose mechanical problems, and recommend adjustments/repair work as necessary
  5. Provide accurate time reporting for assigned activities through the ERP system
  6. Adhere to company policies and procedures
  7. Ensure compliance with safety procedures
  8. All other duties as assigned
  1. Toolmaker Journeyman Card or 8+ years machine or tool building experience
  2. High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  3. Able to interpret engineering drawings and successfully layout equipment according to prints
  4. Familiar with basic Bridgeport operation
  5. Able to use and read micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  6. Able to MIG/ARC weld as needed
  7. Team player, able to take direction and be self-directed
  8. High regard for safety standards
  9. Knowledge of welding and automated assembly
  10. Knowledge of Mechanical Standards, tooling assembly & setup
  11. Strong written and oral communication skills
Work Environment: This position operates in a shop environment.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and twist. Frequently required to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs
Expected Hours of Work: This position regularly requires daily overtime hours and frequent weekend work.
Travel: This position requires some out of town and overnight travel.
