CVOR Registered Nurse

16 Hours Weekly, Part Time, Dayshift

About the Department:

Baptist Health Louisville is a top ranked Heart Program recognized by US News and World Report as well as being a top rated Society for Cardiothoracic Surgeons. Our CVOR department is made up of a dedicated team of cardiac surgery clinicians who specialize and are dedicated only to cardiac surgical services. The Baptist Health Louisville CVOR has three operating rooms and includes a state-of-the art hybrid OR room. Cases performed by these highly skilled nurses and technologists include coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), heart valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, certified structural heart program, cardiac laser lead removal, MAZE procedures and convergent atrial ablation procedures.

Job duties:

The CVOR Registered Nurse ensures proper protocol is followed throughout surgery, administers and monitors anesthesia, ensures high levels of patient safety, and assess, and evaluates the patient's care during surgery. The CVOR nurse is key to the patient's experience, safety, and outcome post-surgery and must have excellent communication skills while being able to work well under pressure.

Requirements:

Registered Nurse with active Kentucky License

BLS and ACLS required

Experience in open heart and/or cardiac procedures is preferred
