    Position Title: Teacher on Special Assignment - Project Aware Grant

    Assignment:

    FTE: 0.6 (110 contract days)

    Expected Starting Date: ASAP


    Typical Class Responsibilities:

    - Coordinates required grant activities, per the Minnesota Department of Education, that increase awareness of mental health needs and provide increased access for youth to mental health services.
    - Partners with stakeholders to augment project goals, services, and resources, including but not limited to the Assistant Superintendent, Principal/Managers, Mental Health TOSAs, District Mental Health Practitioner, School Social Workers, and MTSS Facilitators.
    - Leads and facilitates training within the District and member district school communities to strengthen understanding of mental health needs and strategies and helps to develop consistent structures within the school to support students.
    - In collaboration with the District's Assistant Superintendent, develops systems to track implementation of grant activities, reviews data to determine growth and need areas and monitors yearly grant timelines and goals by following the quality evaluation system outlined within the Project Aware Grant.
    - Organizes and facilitates District Advisory Group meetings.
    - Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.


    Training and Experience Requirements:

    - Master's degree in Social Work or related field;
    - Licensure from the MN Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board as a School Social Worker;
    - Minimum of 5 years of experience working within or supporting education systems;
    - Minimum of 3 years of providing mental health services to children and families; and
    - Minimum of 3 years providing training to school or mental health staff.

    Knowledge Requirements:

    - Trauma informed care, restorative practices, behavioral interventions and other evidence-based practices;
    - Special education services, processes, and requirements;
    - Medical Assistance and CTSS Billing;
    - Customer service principles;
    - Recordkeeping principles;
    - Computers and related software applications; and
    - Understanding of applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

    Skill Requirements:

    - Ability to assess level of care needs and select evidence-based interventions;
    - Preparing and maintaining records and reports;
    - Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction;
    - Ability to work with others in a cooperative and flexible manner;
    - Project management skills including the ability to prioritize work and resources;
    - Preparing and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences;
    - Maintaining confidentiality;
    - Providing excellent customer service;
    - Operating a computer and applicable software applications; and
    - Applying local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.


    Physical Requirements:

    Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and seeing.

    Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
