Supplier Development Specialist
Responsibilities
Identify and lead projects to improve supplier quality, cost and delivery performance
Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR/8D) management, tracking and follow up
Lead and/or support continuous improvement activities at suppliers (Lean Systems / Six Sigma)
Supplier Change Request (SCR) management, tracking and follow up
Work closely with Purchasing on market analysis and commodity strategies
Coordinate complex price and risk reduction change management projects on purchased materials/services
Perform supplier quality audits
Lead/support advanced sourcing activities (APQP)
Supplier documentation monitoring and maintenance
Collect, analyze and report out on supplier quality and delivery
Assures compliance to XALT and Freudenberg best business practices for all supplier development activities
Demonstrate ability and/or development of the primary and secondary skills outlined in the Supplier Development Competency Model
Other duties as assigned
Domestic and/or international travel required. Travel approximately 10 - 30%
Special Circumstances on the job:
The candidate requires a combination of purchasing and business management skills sufficient to lead the managed groups to higher levels of performance. A solid understanding of purchasing systems, supplier development and the technical aspect of manufacturing processes are essential to success. The candidate must be capable of promoting and selling concepts at all levels of the organization through sound analysis and business judgment. The candidate must perform with a minimum of supervision and be a demonstrated team player.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
Strong leadership skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to communicate / interface across all organizational levels.
Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
