PURPOSE


Performs repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce windows either in Vinyl or Aluminum plants by performing the one of the following duties, as assigned.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Glass Hustler - counts glass; pulls glass from cases; picks up sheets of glass; sets glass on A-Frame carts (racks); delivers carts to Glass Washer

  • Glass Retriever - retrieves insulted glass units from staging area and places on carts/racks; delivers cart to glazing conveyor

  • Glass Setter - works with insulated glass units, patio windows, or patio doors to set shims in frame by pushing the unit into the frame until it is bedded in the glazing material. When working on large patio doors or windows will need the assistance of another person to complete the task.

  • Glass Topper - slides one piece of glass form swiggle table and positions at stops; installs grid as needed; blows off glass; picks up second piece down on the first and presses down lightly; lifts unit and sets on oven conveyor; ensures unit is pushed into oven's motorized conveyor.

  • Glass Dealer - inspects and wipes off glass as it exits the washer; slides one piece of glass onto the swiggle table; picks up and sets one piece of glass onto the center of the swiggle table.

  • Glass Stacker - picks up insulated glass units from rack; puts insulated glass units in appropriate location.

  • Other Responsibilities


    • Able to work overtime as business needs require.

    • Ensures that equipment used is operable and maintained in working order

    • May be required to works at different work stations as production needs require.

    • Works in environment where tasks change as varying models of product are produced.

    • Cleans equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.

    • Able to work overtime as business needs require.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • No education or experience required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and glass.

  • Frequently exposed to extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration.

  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.


Routinely exposed to hazardous noise levels.
