Job Description:

Seeking a strong Civil / Structural Engineer with Oil & Gas and/or refining experience. This position is for a mid-level or senior level Civil / Structural engineer capable of determining specific client requirements and acquiring detailed understanding of project Civil / Structural design requirements, schedule, and deliverables. This position requires that the incumbent have the ability to create C/S designs while working independently or with other engineers or designers. This position requires experience and familiarity with materials and equipment associated with, petrochemical, refineries, oil and gas pipelines and associated facilities including but not limited to compressor stations, pump stations, mainline valve sites, refinery units and layouts, meter stations, storage facilities and terminals.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Familiarity with latest applicable codes such as ASCE, ASHTO, ASTM, AISC
  • Evaluate client requirements and author design basis documents, project execution plans and Civil/Structural scopes of work.
  • Provide designs and calculations for roadways, dikes and dike containment, equipment and building foundations, site drainage, pipe and cable tray supports and foundations, and equipment structures.
  • Preparation of various Civil / Structural related studies/calculations to include wind load, seismic, as well as other required calculations to satisfy local permitting authorities.
  • Contributes to the development of client proposals and project schedules and cost estimates.
  • Have a complete understanding of facility requirements including site specific design criteria and PE stamping requirements for design documents.
Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree in engineering with focus on civil and structural from an accredited college or university.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum experience required is 15 years.
  • Must have extensive and in depth experience in industrial / commercial civil and structural engineering in the petrochemical, oil and gas industries

LICENSING:

  • Professional engineer (PE) is required or eligible to obtain a professional engineering license.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Requires excellent oral communication skills in English.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in speech and writing to other team members and client personnel.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Mathematical skills that are required for completion of a Bachelors degree in engineering.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Able to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Able to make decisions on specific project items which will promote the achievement of overall project objectives.
  • Able to view problems form many different sides to develop the best overall solution.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Focused on always providing quality, value driven results.
  • Ability to work in a team environment including across office locations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to supervise and manage subordinate engineers and design staff.
  • Efficient utilizing StaadPro, Risa or equivalent finite element analysis software.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, occasionally in excess of a normal 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mon-Thurs and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. schedules.
  • Ability to travel freely within the United States and internationally as needed.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC card, DISA clearance and BOP+ training
