You will oversee the operation and improvements to the IMS Quality System and direct the QA Inspection workforce. Manage entire non-conformance system including internal, supplier, & Customer Corrective/Preventative Actions. Evaluates and modifies QA processes and procedures to insure the manufacture of defect-free product. Ensures that projects are completed on deadline and in accordance with established procedures. Keeps Senior Management well informed of area activities and significant problems. Ensures compliance with safety regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • 3D Design and Implementation of Production/Quality tooling such as holding fixtures, Bed of Nails Test Heads for electronics. adapters, interfaces to test equipment, etc.
  • Assist in Work Instructions, ISO procedures, Product Quality plans and all product documentation
  • Customer interface for Corrective Actions, Root-cause analysis and any other quality issues
  • Supplier interface for Quality Alerts and working with them for root cause & corrective actions
  • Establish a formal Quality System linked to all internal departments, our suppliers, and our customers
  • Produce regular quality reports i.e. 1st Pass Yield, Inspection, MRB, Customer Repairs, Supplier Rating, and others as needed.
  • Manage our MRB system and link to our CAPA system
  • Maintain the Quality Module of our Visual ERP system
  • Supervise our Incoming & Final Inspection personnel/operation
  • Identify QA Equipment requirements and maintenance
  • Drive Inspection productivity improvements
  • Establish an AQL plan for product test requirements
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and requirements.

General Tasks

  • Maintain compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implement the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 3 or more years of Quality/Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Quality methods & systems
  • Solid skills with SPC, process improvement and other quality methods
  • Complete understanding of ISO9000 Quality System & Procedures
  • Root-cause analysis techniques & reporting
  • Strong 3D Modeling and Printing skills/experience
  • Strong hands-on analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Well organized.
  • Good communications and Leadership skills.
  • Technology driven.
  • Must be proficient in MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Access
  • Experienced using SPC software charting tools i.e. Statit, MiniTab, etc.
  • Six-Sigma, 8-D Corrective Action Methodology & FEMA experience desirable

Travel Requirements

  • Travel may occasionally be required to support key suppliers
  • Travel usually about once per year but may be a few times a year depending on need

Physical Requirements

  • Up to 20 pounds occasionally and / or up to 10 pounds frequently

Compensation and Benefits

  • The base pay for this position ranges from $73,438 to $95,158
    annual depending on the geographic market.
  • Dependent on the position offered, annual bonuses and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the compensation package.
