This position will be based out of our Atlanta, GA office with the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule aligned with project needs.

Detailed Description:

In this position, you will work on various projects for municipal and industrial clients. You will work directly with our engineering staff, other consulting firms, contractors, and clients, for planning, design, and construction of facilities serving the water and wastewater industries. Candidates with an engineering design background and with the ability to be involved in design as well as construction services would be highly desired. Anticipated project work responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform environmental engineering work on various tasks with an emphasis on wastewater and water treatment processes and process mechanical design.
  • Lead engineering evaluations, execute design calculations, and prepare reports, plans, and specifications with support and oversight from senior-level engineering staff.
  • Construction administration and on-site resident support activities, including construction phase management activities.
  • Lead administrative and project management-related tasks for various engineering design projects.
  • Interface with Clients and present engineering findings
  • Lead environmental studies, permitting, and alternative analyses.
  • Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspection and testing.
  • Duties may include field activities such as site investigations and construction support.
  • Data collection, manipulation, analysis, and documentation.
  • Participate in BC's QA/QC process.
  • Collaborate with other design teams during design development to address design issues.
  • Prepare effective and accurate internal and external reports pertaining to job status, written documents, and reports.
  • Assist with commissioning, testing, and start-up of process systems/equipment or facilities.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required. Master's degree preferable.
  • PE in Georgia or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 12 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible, professional experience in the design and construction administration of municipal infrastructure water and wastewater facilities or equal.
  • Experience performing field engineering evaluations of wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Experience related to on-site engineering during construction and/or construction observation is preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Must be able to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing priorities.
  • Capable of working virtually with employees in other offices around the country.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex issues to clients and project partners and stakeholders both in person and virtually.
  • Ability to walk around a construction site of varying size and topography to perform inspections and ability to stand for several hours observing and documenting critical construction activities.
  • Ability to work for short periods of time in extreme temperatures including heat and cold.
  • Ability to wear required safety equipment at sites including hard hats, steel-toed boots (or other approved toe protection), eye protection, safety vest, and gloves,
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to travel periodically and ability to accommodate overnight stays on occasion.

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A:

Salary $85,000 - $116,000
