Job Description

Become an integral part of our Enterprise Collaboration Team. Technical Analysts play a crucial role in executing CoBank's mission to serve as a dependable provider of credit to agriculture and rural infrastructure businesses by supporting the Bank's ability to create, share, and archive critical business content. Whether you are new to collaboration and documents or are an experienced Content Management professional, this position will allow you to grow and build a career in a team focused environment that values best practice and constructive conversations. The Senior Technical Analyst will provide exposure to a modern and varied technology stack supporting doc gen, collaboration, e-signing, and records management.

At CoBank, our Senior Technical Analyst participates in the gathering and analysis of business, data and processing requirements, working with business architects, subject matter experts and business analysts on Information Technology (IT) applications. Acts as an interface between the technical team and the business or information technology application users. May facilitate process improvement efforts, data collection and analysis of information and processes that impact achievement of financial, operational, compliance, customer satisfaction and other enterprise goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gathers, analyzes, validates and documents business requirements for IT applications; participates in the determination of functionality required to meet requirements; and articulates integration required for the existing environment.
  • Serves as a liaison between the IT developer team and internal clients.
  • Assists in the translation of detailed and complex business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Determines appropriate analysis tasks and activities; provides realistic level of effort estimates to project manager.
  • Queries and analyzes data, and assists in data profiling activities.
  • Conducts analyses and ad-hoc queries for end user requests
  • Provides technical support for end users.
  • Acquires and maintains an understanding of CoBank's IT processes, and develops an expertise in workflows and outputs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science, information systems, or relevant discipline.
  • Seven (7) or more years of relevant experience in information technology, preferably in the banking or financial services industry; or appropriate combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Scrum preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in financial services, lending/leasing business, agribusiness, communications and energy companies, international, and/or cooperatives preferred.
  • Strong understanding of technology components, methodologies and infrastructure requirements supporting the implementation of tightly integrated information technology solutions.
  • Proven record of success in eliciting and creating detailed complex business requirements.
  • Able to create both current and future state diagrams and documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and documenting technical requirements in custom and packaged environments.
  • Proficient with SQL Server and related query tools.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience.
  • Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all levels of management, team members and customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation, with demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight time frames and with competing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel), and applicable business software applications.
  • Basic knowledge of banking and lending terminology preferred
  • May assist in leading internal IT-oriented project teams in the identification, design and delivery of process improvement initiatives.
  • May facilitate process redesign working sessions with technology teams, identifying customer needs, conducting current state assessments, creating process maps and flows, identifying opportunities for improvement and developing future-state designs.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).

Compensation Information

  • Estimated Base Salary Range: $83,000-$110,000
  • Target short-term incentive opportunity: 18%
