Summary:

Part Time (1099)* Host Nation (HN) Role Players (RP) are responsible replicating HN military or government personnel. RPs must possess a minimum of two years of practical real-world experience in the roles or functions that they simulate for specific Host Nation Security Force (HNSF), interagency, or HN government roles. RPs will replicate HN personnel conducting training and combat operations; in doing so, they will interact with US Army Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB) personnel serving as liaisons to the HN as the scenario begins in peacetime/crisis and escalates into combat operations. RPs will replicate either embassy personnel (Regional Security Officer or Defense Attache (DATT) or military personnel serving as the battalion, brigade or division level. RPs will establish their operations and execute the missions associated with their roles, to include conducting the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) and conducting all staff actions necessary to replicate their units, to include conducting update briefs, producing staff estimates, establishing and maintaining a manual and/or digital Common Operating Picture (COP), and commanding and controlling subordinate forces. RPs must be able to withstand repeated training days in inclement weather conditions at differing locations; this may include days of working from hard structures, tents, or vehicles. RPs will be expected to learn basic digital Command and Control (C2) systems such as the Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) and/or the Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P). The first event is unclassified.

*1099 Consultant RPs are individually assigned a variety of missions based upon their availability. These missions currently include as many opportunities as two four-week missions and up to 15 eight/nine day missions.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn assigned roles and understand your individual and mission
  • Maintain your role throughout the scenario
  • Maintain competency in military command and control and/or staffing procedures
  • Assist the set up/tear down of replicated TOC environments
  • Conduct scenario rehearsals prior to mission execution
  • Meticulously track time requirements during mission execution
  • Produce unit and staff products as necessary for your unit mission
  • Maintain Staff Logs
  • Maintain AAR logs for exercise AARs
  • Provide feedback to OC/Ts and the EXCON as requested
  • Serve as rental car drivers as needed
  • Participate in exercise AARs and hotwashes
  • Submit expense reports in a timely manner
  • Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eligible for secret clearance
  • Effective multi-tasking skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with others in a dynamic environment
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Word/PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable engaging senior US military personnel
  • Must maintain current driver's license.
  • At least two (2) years of military or civilian experience commensurate with the level of role playing of your position.
  • Battalion RPs must have completed the Senior Leaders Course (SLC)/ANCOC or the Captains Career Course (CCC)/OAC.
  • Brigade and Division RPs must have completed the SMA or ILE/CGSC (MEL4)
  • Commander RPs must have completed Command at the given level
  • Embassy Personnel must have performed 2 years of duty commensurate with the replicated position

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited institution, FA57, Army War College (AWC)
  • Familiar with the mission of the 3-353rd BN
  • Recent deployment experience
  • Transition Team Experience (Europe, Middle East, North Africa)
  • Branch - Army, USMC
  • Rank - S2, S3, S4, G2, G3, G4, XO, General, Colonel, Major, CSM, Sergeant Major, Master Sergeant, Sergeant First Class
  • Combat Arms, Infantry, Armor, Field Artillery, Aviation, Special Forces, Advise and Assist, PSYOPS, Civil Affairs, Engineer, Military Intelligence, Military Police, Logistics, Signal, Planning, Orders, Simulation, MCIS, ABCS, C24I, Battle Staff
