To support our continued growth, we have created an excellent opportunity for an individual to join the BAYCOM team as a Video Security and Two-Way Radio Technician.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Preparation & Installation: Take charge of staging, configuring, and ensuring the flawless installation of our equipment, adhering to our high standards and meeting customer expectations.
  • Inventory Management & Assembly: Efficiently manage inventory, assemble parts, and prepare project equipment, ensuring readiness and correctness for all assignments.
  • Service & Maintenance: Proactively respond to service calls, perform detailed system and component diagnostics, and carry out maintenance to uphold our commitment to excellence.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Collaborate closely with customers, ensuring all work performed exceeds expectations, fostering trust and long-term relationships.
  • Troubleshooting & Resolution: Expertly troubleshoot equipment issues, distinguishing between equipment and installation faults, and devising effective action plans for resolution.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Meticulously document all services and parts utilized during customer engagements, ensuring clarity and accountability.
  • Professional Representation: Uphold Baycom's reputation by consistently presenting a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Workspace & Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain a high level of organization and cleanliness in work areas and company vehicles, reflecting our standards of professionalism.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience or a keen interest in ethernet cable management, termination, and equipment installation in various settings.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable in customer-facing roles, adaptable to outdoor work, and capable of safely working at heights.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy required; CompTIA A+ certification is a plus.
  • Electronics Knowledge: Solid understanding of AC/DC electronics fundamentals.
  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying informed on the latest technologies, troubleshooting techniques, and product knowledge.
  • Documentation Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook) for clear and effective customer documentation.
  • Flexibility: Openness to a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional travel as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This role is primarily field-based, involving travel to customer sites, with occasional office work. We're committed to an inclusive workplace and offer reasonable accommodations to enable all individuals to perform their job functions effectively.

The role demands physical activity including, but not limited to, verbal communication, hearing, standing, crouching, bending, kneeling, frequent entry and exit from vehicles, manual tool use, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Technicians will also need to navigate installation sites and work with hands above shoulder height for extended periods.
