Meyer 5 Schizophrenia/General Psychiatry is a 19-bed unit specializing in the treatment of schizophrenia psychotic disorders as well as treatment of psychiatric disorders that may include evidence of disruption in behavior, cognition, or mood. This unit features a Schizophrenia Day Hospital that provides ongoing/treatment interventions such as pharmacotherapy, individual and group psychotherapy, and psycho-education groups.
Shifts: 8 Hour Day & Evening Shifts; Every Third Weekend
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Active Nursing Assistant Certification in Maryland is required
1 year of acute care (in-hospital) tech experience within the most recent 2 years is required (EMT or CRT experience may be considered)
BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as contributing members of the healthcare team. Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.
