The Facility Designer I is an essential, valued member of the HDR O&M Facilities Design staff directly responsible for developing a major portion of our project deliverables. This person is self-motivated, creative, and innovative, with the ability to be a team player in an international, employee-owned A/E firm.

Day-to-day tasks will include planning, design, and industrial equipment specification on some of the world's most advanced vehicle maintenance facilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facility programming, report writing, site master planning, developing specifications, and construction documents
  • Selection, coordination, and layout of various aspects of design (vehicle maintenance equipment, site flow, etc.)
  • Creating/using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to complete different levels of documents
  • Submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review
  • Conduct construction field observations
  • Other design/engineering tasks as assigned
  • Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, industrial design, or related field
  • Strong BIM skills
  • Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture
  • Preference will be given to local candidates

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Command of Revit and AutoCAD, and knowledge of SketchUp
  • Command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project)
  • Working knowledge of LOD 300 requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to effectively interact with and present to client
  • Ability to hand draw conceptual site and building plans
  • Exceptional level of accuracy and detail
