HDR is looking for a Project Manager to lead zero emissions infrastructure planning and fleet transition projects. This position may be based out of any of the following HDR offices: Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, Columbia (SC), or Charleston (SC). The Project Manager will lead state, federal, MPO, county, and municipal projects, including planning, budget forecasts, procurement strategies, infrastructure planning, and fleet deployment strategies for zero-emission vehicles for public and private fleet operators across the United States. They will be expected to manage assigned projects throughout their full lifecycle including developing scope, technical documents and overseeing the delivery of project plans. They will proactively manage budgets, schedules, technical requirements, contractual obligations, and client communications in support of project objectives, and will provide technical leadership and support while managing and reviewing reports and plans. This role is for a candidate that seeks the challenges of leading multi-disciplinary groups to achieve a desired goal and enjoys complex projects involving many disciplines. They must have a strong desire for problem solving, and be willing to navigate a diverse project landscape with the willingness to actively lead. On a day-to-day basis, they'll also be expected to:

* Lead internal teams and guide clients through fleet feasibility and transition challenges

* Leverage technical hands-on experience, and project management skills

* Provide leadership, ownership and expertise to teams and clients in a client facing role

* Provide high attention to detail and prioritize details that truly matter to projects

* Demonstrate a high level of versatility and enjoy new challenges

* Provide a track record of influencing and leading others toward common goals

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Engineering, Planning, or related discipline

  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience, 1-2 years specifically relevant to zero emissions implementation

  • Minimum of 2 years project management experience, with at least one highly complex project with a dynamic environment under a highly aggressive schedule

  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills

  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Engineering, Planning, or related discipline

  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification

  • Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Strong communication skills, particularly technical writing

  • Local candidates are preferred
