The labor relations communications manager supports internal and external communications initiatives as part of DaVita's centralized communications team. This role will deliver on a key objective: creating compelling content that helps build and protect DaVita's reputation as an employer of choice with current and prospective teammates. The ideal candidate will have a background supporting labor relations strategies and/or policy communications. Key duties include the creation of teammate-facing content and collateral, paid and organic social media and proactive and reactive media relations. Candidates must be highly collaborative and comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position may have supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.
- The ideal candidate will have a background supporting labor relations strategies and/or policy communications.
- Work with team leads and representatives across the Village to implement a labor relations communications strategy that will advance DaVita's reputation and goals;
- Develop creative internal and external communication campaigns aimed at highlighting what makes DaVita a special place to work;
- Equip field leaders with relevant material as issues/needs arise, including the development of conversation guides, talking points and more;
- Project manage the creation of teammate-facing collateral and swag;
- Support media relations and state government affairs teams, including development of responsive statements and story mining;
- Craft paid and organic social media content;
- In partnership with government affairs, oversee creation of assorted policy/legislative communications;
- In partnership with Physician Experience and Patient Experience teams, develop physician and patient communications, as needed;
- Work with creative experts to develop supporting visual content, review/edit assets and manage the content review process;
- Effectively partner with other internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships and seek alignment on ongoing projects;
- Thoughtfully collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders to leverage all pertinent distribution channels to maximize reach;
- Establish positive rapport with Village partners, serve as a strategic partner and trusted resource to leaders;
- Support with other special projects as needed, including open enrollment communications, new program/benefit launches, executive thought leadership initiatives and more;
- Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects, drive for timely execution and track and report results.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, licenses, certification and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, including computer skills as required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience preferred.
- A minimum of 4-6 years of communications or related field.
- Excellent writing, communications and presentation skills, with the ability to create content for a variety of audiences and channels required.
- Labor relations and/or government affairs experience highly desired.
- Media relations experience preferred, including knowledge of media operations, newsroom responsibilities and editorial decision-making.
- Social media experience preferred, including knowledge of paid and organic strategies.
- Executive thought leadership experience preferred, including speaking engagement vetting, speech/byline authorship and award submissions.
- Agency and project management experience preferred.
- Experience and understanding of traditional and emerging strategic communications and marketing trends and technologies.
- Possess a cultural awareness and ability to tailor communication to culturally diverse audiences.

Salary/ Wage Range
$62,200.00-$91,300.00 / yearCompensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
