As the Principal Storage Platform Architect you will be a technology leader for Embedded IoT platform. In this position you will have the ability to define systems architecture, interconnections and technology direction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Define System architecture for the residential storage platform
- Define interconnections between different elements of the platform
- Develop system functional requirement specifications
- Define control algorithm requirements
- Work with cross functional development team to ensure requirements are translated into quality implementation
- Work on Horizon 3 advanced development activities to set technology direction
- Identify and evaluate potential M&A activities for technology perspective
- Participate in external standard making panels to represent company interests
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics
- 12 years of hardware/firmware experience with demonstrated expertise in Solar, Storage or power conversion product development
- 7 years of progressive hardware/firmware leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated delivery of hardware/firmware for products at scale and quality
- Demonstrated success in developing platform architecture for reusability and scaling
- Expert knowledge of architecture through low level firmware for Residential Storage eco system
- Demonstrated success implementing and improving firmware development processes
- Development experience in residential storage development for US market is highly desirable
- Demonstrated success with firmware quality initiatives development (for example unit testing, MISRA, FMEA driven firmware design)
- Demonstrated success in directing firmware validation development (unit test, smoke tests, automated regression, simulation/HIL approaches
- Excellent software fundamentals including architectural design, algorithm development, data structures, code modularity, and maintainability

On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
Compensation: Generac Clean Energy is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The annual salary for this remote position is $150,000 - $240,000, but this compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
