The Embry-Riddle Language Institute (ERLI) at the Prescott campus invites applications for a part-time teaching position to start May 9, 2023.
ERLI provides intensive English instruction (20 hours/week) to help students develop skills in four areas: Writing, Grammar, Reading, Listening and Speaking. Students complete a comprehensive language exam when they arrive on campus, and they are placed into one of four levels: Upper Beginning, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate, and Advanced.
The successful candidate will teach non-degree classes in writing, grammar, reading, and listening/speaking courses to students who are preparing to enroll as full-time students at the university. All classes are taught on campus. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, organized and relevant ESL instruction in reading, writing, grammar and listening/speaking to international students in accordance to the ERLI curriculum and established course outlines
* Prepare daily lesson plans in accordance with class syllabi and curricula
* Assess students' progress and proficiency formally and informally
* Submit grades in a timely manner
* Enforce attendance policies
QualificationsApplicants must have one of the following:
* Master's degree in TESOL or TESL
* Master's degree in Bilingual Education
* Master's degree in Applied Linguistics with an ESL or TESL emphasis
* Master's degree in Linguistics with an ESL or TESL emphasis
* Master's degree in English with a TESL emphasis
