The Job:
We are seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to work as an integral part of the industrial and commercial facilities team in our Denver, Colorado office. You may be a good fit for this job if you have an interest in electrical systems and equipment and appreciate the interaction of electrical systems with other systems in modern buildings.

The Electrical BIM Designer produces electrical / instrumentation & controls (I&C) design drawings and documents in Revit as part of the overall electrical and I&C engineering team. Typical tasks include creation and drafting of high-quality electrical layouts in Revit; population of panelboard schedules; creation of one-line and control diagrams; sizing of feeders and electrical equipment; creation of lighting designs including selection of light fixtures and associated switching/circuiting; process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs); network diagrams, panel layouts; and control schematics. The Electrical Designer will coordinate with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Plumbing, Civil, etc.) to produce coordinated designs, including creation of coordinated mechanical/mechanical equipment schedules.

The Electrical BIM Designer will work under the guidance and mentorship of senior electrical BIM team members and electrical and I&C engineers. The role provides opportunities for professional growth and stimulation through projects in multiple markets including water/wastewater, federal/National Park Service, mining, data center/mission-critical, commercial buildings, health care, and higher education.

Project assignments are expected to be primarily in the Colorado/Rocky Mountain area, although assignment to projects located in other geographies is possible. Travel is not a routine element of this position.

We work as an integrated team fluidly supporting complex engineering projects across a wide range of industries. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate or technical school degree. Electrical engineering or architectural engineering degree will also be considered.
  • Formal Revit training and working knowledge of the Revit platform.
  • Experience using Revit for electrical design preferred
  • Command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Interpersonal skills and professional demeanor appropriate for interacting with other design professionals.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Interest in electrical equipment and electrical systems.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Required Qualifications):

  • 1 years of experience in designing electrical lighting, power and systems for building projects.
  • Experience in healthcare, commercial facilities, and/or industrial facilities.
  • Experience with an architectural/engineering firm is highly desirable.
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED is desired.

The expected compensation range for this position is $47,355.00 - $67,650.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
