Project Analyst - Chicago, IL

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Project Analyst with experience in both project support and project accounting. In this role, you will both self-perform and collaborate with various teams in the execution of project set-up, monitoring of the project management process, and providing project accounting support. This position will also provide support for corporate and division functions as directed by the Division leadership.

This position plays an important role in managing internal and external relationships. This role requires the ability to work independently, have excellent attention to detail, refined organizational skills, and an ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and multiple initiatives simultaneously.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Assist Division with project set-up and project management process to achieve compliance with contractual terms, billing schedules, and accurate revenue recognition
  • Perform calculations and analysis to ensure accurate revenue recognition
  • Provide project financial data for analysis and to help establish goals and monitor performance
  • Monitor accounts receivable and other financial KPIs, consult with management on action needed and collaborate with division and clients to resolve billing issues
  • Review various monthly project reports, collect and analyze the information provided by the team to assess project status, and update Division leadership on identified issues and actions needed
  • Monitor performance of project financials, AR, financial projections, and budgeting and inform project, division and financial management of results and/or corrective actions needed
  • Compile and distribute project financial data for analysis, collaborate to establish project goals and milestones, define responsibilities, coordinate resources, and monitor project progress
  • Assist the Division leadership with the preparation of annual budgets and period financial reporting
  • Partner with staff from other departments to ensure accurate monitoring of budgets, project performance and financials
  • Gather, review and input data into multiple systems, create various forms and reports for projects, monitor and verify project documentation compliance within operational procedures
  • Provide division team with project accounting support and training on project accounting and tools
  • Provide financial data for proposals and contracts

What We Are Looking For:

  • Associates degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with accounting and financial management support
  • Advanced ability to utilize accounting and scheduling software for project management
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and other internal software packages
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment #LI-MM1
