We are seeking a limited-term Legal Intern to assist in either our Oakland, CA or Walnut Creek, CA office for 8-10 weeks, working 20-40 hours per week under the direction of the Corporate Counsel.

As an intern you will support the legal department. Intern job assignments are expected to expose the intern to the full breadth of our practice, which spans the following practice areas: client, subcontractor, and vendor contracting relationships; project delivery; claims management & dispute resolution; compliance; professional licensing; insurance coverage; and ad hoc projects initiated by your supervisor, the General Counsel, or addressing company needs identified by senior executives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the review of commercial contracts
  • Respond to document production requests and subpoenas
  • Research legal issues as they arise and are assigned
  • Assist the Legal Department with tasks as assigned

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Currently enrolled as a law student in an ABA accredited law school. (required)
  • Completed first year law student classes (i.e., contracts, torts, property, research & writing). (required)
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task.
  • Basic knowledge of office computers in a Windows environment. (preferred)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Based on state and federal requirements, this position may be hourly and overtime-eligible or salaried eligible for straight-time overtime. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

    • Minimum Wage: $28.24/hour or $64,480/year / Maximum Wage: $31.00/hour or $69,846/year (Oakland, Walnut Creek)
