Job Description

The primary Responsibilities of this role, Analyst III QC Chemistry are to:

  • Maintain the laboratory and equipment and perform testing to meet the laboratory Turn Around Time - (TAT) requirements.
  • Troubleshoot assays and analytical instrumentation, and improve existing methods used in testing to optimize efficiency wherever possible.
  • Draft SOP’s where necessary.
  • Investigate questionable test results, write investigation/test plans, initiate and investigate Investigational Reports and OOS/Invalid/Unexpected reports when applicable.
  • Collaborate effectively with QA representatives to manage the initiation, investigation, and closure of incident reports.
  • Maintain close interaction and communication with other QC divisions and QA groups to ensure on-time and dependable related decisions.
  • Gather information necessary to support changes to existing methods according to approved procedures.
  • Initiate Change Control requests in Bayer’s document management system and follows through until the completion of workflows.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies, customers and internal auditors/inspectors.
  • Represents QC at operational and cross-functional meetings, prepares and presents information, provides decision making support at meetings and disseminates information back to QC.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a science or technical field.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory-based role.
  • Demonstrable experience with cGMP and regulatory compliance (FDA, EMA and other international agencies).
  • Ability to support and prioritize many diverse activities simultaneously while meeting schedule commitments.
  • Thorough knowledge of chromatography (SEC, ION, NORMAL, REVERSE, ION- PAIR, etc.), electrophoresis (PAGE and/or agarose), simple chemistry methods (e.g., spectrophotometry) and wet chemistry to prepare samples.
  • Knowledge of biologics and manufacturing processes.
  • Prior experience in a QC laboratory and hands on experience with LIMS, SAP and related chromatographic software (EMPOWER).
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and have a flexible schedule (ability to work an occasional evening schedule and/or a shift that involves weekends when needed).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • . Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $73,900 to $110,791.  Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
