  1. FUNCTION: The Nurse Practitioner delivers patient care to patients within the service line hired under the supervision of the physician. Supports the development and maintenance of the service line continuum of care.
  2. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Graduate of Nursing Program, BSN / BA required
    1. Position requires a Master's Degree with Nurse

      Practitioner track.

    2. Prescriptive authority required.
    3. Current West Virginia State licensure and registered with WV Advanced Practice Registry.
    4. Progressive clinical experience in area of specialty.
    5. Analytical skills necessary.
    6. Must possess excellent communication skills necessary to communicate fully with patients, staff, outside departments, insurance companies and other providers. 8. Ability to work based on the operational needs of the department.

V. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A. ORGANIZATIONAL TEAMWORK COMPETENCIES

  4. Demonstrates knowledge of physical health / wellness

    information and Exposure Control Plan

  5. Demonstrates knowledge of Office/workplace safety:
  6. Demonstrates knowledge of Risk Management / Occurrence Report Practices / Non-punitive Work Environment.
C. Clinical Practice
  1. In accordance with usual and customary health practices and consistent with the supervising physician's specialty, the NP's educational / training / experience and the patients health and condition, provides specialty medical care within the scope of a collaborative agreement.
  2. Plans with practice management for the development and implementation (education) of area of specialty structure and process standards.
D. Administrative Practice
  1. Assists with the development of practice strategic plans reflective of corporate goals to facilitate effective progress.
  2. Demonstrates knowledge of and participates in operating budget process for area of specialty.
  3. Provides data in relation to environmental factors which inhibit or facilitate patient care.
  4. In conjunction with Manager, identifies program Performance Management Plan processes with staff participation to identify patient care issues / problems and to develop action plans to resolve problems, improve outcomes and exceed customer expectations.
  5. In conjunction with Manager, trains staff to provide competent care through development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of program competencies based orientation, education evaluation programs.
E. Professional Accountability / Leadership
  1. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows correct chain of command in handling clinical challenges and patient care issues including crisis situations.
  2. Demonstrates knowledge of role responsibility and operating philosophy of CCPC.
  3. Assures responsibility for insuring continued professional growth of self by attending formal / informal educational / professional activities.
  4. Recognizes the need for and plans research, facilitates implementation of research findings in areas of responsibility and participates in research activities.
  5. Ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well- coordinated work effort and to effectively meet work schedules, including an ability to integrate multiple factors which may have an impact on patient care, including variance in human resources.
