What you will be responsible for:

As a Lead Business Systems Analyst, you are leading business analysis within the Sales Data Team. You are responsible for ensuring that solutions take full advantage of the capabilities of the multiple technologies used in the sales operations process and adhere to best practices. You will work as a member of an Agile team to develop, test, and deploy technology solutions that address the business needs of MFS Global Distribution. You will partner with Product Owners to understand the business strategic vision and work with Scrum Masters and Agile team members to ensure the business strategy is understood and achieved through the implemented solution. You may also work closely with vendors to determine appropriate solutions and understand new capabilities. This role combines a strong capability in working with data and technology with the ability to understand and communicate business requirements and build strong relationships with others to achieve success.

Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis of business activities to determine business requirements. Works with MFS Distribution business groups and product owners to understand and define needs. Converts business requirements into functional specifications. Works closely with Scrum team members, business users and other technology professionals in an Agile environment to achieve business objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technology organization to ensure proper implementation of technology solutions to achieve business needs. Serve as a key point of contact and liaison for key business stakeholders to work with the Agile teams.
  • Translate business needs into development stories and functionality release plans.
  • Partner with Product Owners to understand the business strategic vision and work with Scrum Masters and Agile teams to ensure business strategy is understood and achieved through the implemented solution.
  • Work closely with vendors as needed to understand technology capabilities. Work to develop subject matter expertise to inform the development team, business stakeholders, and ensure a high-quality solution.
  • Identify technology solution strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement to reduce risk, improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Partner with the Development teams and Application Support team to ensure solutions are well executed and supported.
  • Follow the MFS Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring that all steps of the process are followed prior to releasing any code.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced team members.
  • Serve in multiple roles as necessary on the Agile Team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a business or technology related field.
  • 5-6+ years' experience in the financial services industry with experience in mutual fund process flows both transactional and assets is preferred.
  • Strong technical skills including a solid understanding of underlying relevant technical architecture and business processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with an understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate into technology and operational requirements.
  • Proven ability to leverage resources and communicate with others both verbally and in writing. Strong ability to synthesize information. Ability to demo technology solutions and effectively tailor explanations to wide range of audiences.
  • An in-depth understanding of Agile framework and experience delivering technology solutions following a systems development lifecycle methodology.
  • Ability to consider the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future state business environment.
  • Proven ability to develop creative, innovative solutions to meet business needs.
  • Intermediate level ability in writing and understanding Structured Query Language (SQL) is preferred.
  • Experience working with ETL (Extract, Transflorm Load) software and API tools is preferred.
  • Expertise in working with large data sets, data models, and performing data analysis.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau or Microstrategy is preferred.
