Primary Responsibilities
At HDR you will utilize your electrical engineering skills on a wide variety of projects, including commercial office buildings, healthcare, justice, higher education, and data centers. There are additional opportunities to work on federal, industrial water, community improvement, sustainability, and emergency power projects.


In the role of Electrical Engineer, you will have opportunity to take an active role in preparing electrical project design elements such as drawings and specifications for power, lighting, and control systems. You will work with multi-discipline project teams to design the best solution for our clients. There are also a wide variety of career growth pathways and opportunities including project management.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Master's in Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • Registered professional engineer or ability to obtain registration as part of a professional pathway
  • Strong knowledge of building electrical power design
  • Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, Revit, and Revit add on software.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
  • An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned culture

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years' experience in electrical design of buildings
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
  • Experience with electrical design software such as SKM or Easypower.
