HDR Engineering is looking for a System Protection & Studies (SPS) EIT/Coordinator to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of System Protections and Studies EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options, performing modeling and/or calculations
  • Assist with preparing cost estimates or specifications.
  • Perform routine engineering and design tasks and participate in field reviews or construction observation.
  • Work under the direct supervision of a Project Engineer, APM, or PM.
  • May independently work on small tasks and may assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects.
  • Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical Emphasis.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Previous internship beneficial.
  • EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference given to candidates local to Austin, TX.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience doing electrical power system analysis, electrical system planning, protective device application, settings and substation design is highly preferred.
