The IT Technical Engineer for Smithfield Hog Production Systems- Is responsible for the full life cycle management of Smithfield's applications, from strategic planning to tactical execution; specifying requirements for current and future products; leading ideation, technical development, and launch of new enhancements; establishing a shared vision with business unit stakeholders by building consensus on priorities and product execution; managing projects. S/he is an advocate of continuous improvements and industry recognized best practices. The position plays a vital role with both financial and operational processes, providing high quality solutions into production environments. A great candidate will drive business best practices and standardization across the organization to best serve the company.
