The Civil Design Section is looking for mid-level Civil Engineers to provide support and additional bandwidth for new and upcoming work. The person in this role would support Sr Engineers in the group on various engineering related deliverables including plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and performing calculations to support development of quantities and bid schedules. Job duties and requirements include the following:

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  1. Work with junior and senior engineers as required to complete engineering assignments.
  2. Assist with and/or lead preparation of contract documents.
  3. Prepare plan drawings, technical specifications, design documentation reports, bid quantities, and construction cost estimates.
  4. Redlines plan drawings and coordinate with AutoCAD drafters and Civil 3D designer. May be required to prepare designs in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
  5. May mentor junior staff.
  6. May perform site visits to confirm field conditions.
  7. Perform engineering assignments that require critical thinking and creativity to address unique elements that have limited or no specific code-based guidance.
  8. Perform other duties as needed.



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 or more years of experience
  • Professional registration or license (PE)
  • Experience preparing designs utilizing AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

  • Field experience related to civil construction
  • Experience related to water resources projects

The expected compensation range for this position is $75,152.00 - $122,000.00 annually/hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
