This is a unique opportunity to combine your enthusiasm for spreading the word about our new Supplier Diversity Program at MFS with your desire to be an integral member of the Procurement team. You will work day to day in the Procurement Group as the subject matter expert for Supplier Diversity while also supporting the Procurement function. You will create awareness across the organization about the value of the Supplier Diversity program. You will maintain supplier diversity data and provide reporting. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, and will have a record of interest in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.Principal Responsibilities
Provide education and create internal awareness and engagement around Supplier Diversity
Identify and communicate diverse sources of supply to Procurement team and internal business partners.
Identify and establish business relationships with potential diverse suppliers for inclusion in bidding and RFP opportunities
Cultivate and maintain relationships with Supplier Diversity organizations and councils to keep MFS up to date on best practices
Attend and participate in external council meetings and activities
Maintain visibility and relationships with our internal DEI and ERG organizations.
Work with MFS end users to understand their requirements and lead the bidding process
Educate internal users on process and use of ePro application
Assists in resolving billing and receiving issues.
Assist in vendor selection and negotiate with vendors on the best price, without sacrificing quality and to ensure maximum benefit for MFS.
Update and maintain MFS's supplier diversity spend data
Create, update, and communicate MFS' diverse spend reporting
Provide diverse spend metrics as required for RFP's
Use reporting to identify trends and opportunities to increase diverse spend
Assist with routine Purchasing reporting and quality control functions
Create ad hoc vendor reports as required
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience, with 0-2+ years of procurement experience
Be intellectually curious and learn quickly, work effectively with little direction, and take the lead in situations where appropriate
Demonstrate ability to effectively manage high-volume workload and complex priorities
Be action oriented with superior attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Demonstrated cultural competency, knowledge and understanding of DEI principles
Excellent communication (oral and written), analytical, customer service, problem solving and presentation skills
Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to accurately organize data
Experience with various applications including Excel, PeopleSoft and SharePoint
