Student position in the field of Chemistry.
Ideal candidate will be in a 2-year or 4-year science program, preferably chemistry. The position is for a chemical technician, part-time during the academic year and full-time during the Summer. The role is targeted to start January 2023.
Position requires strict adherence to our chemical hygiene plan, performing various tasks in sample prep (extractions, dilutions, digestions, etc.), and operating some test equipment such as UV-VIS, pH, infrared, chromatography, spectroscopy, and/or other instruments and test methods. Specific task training provided on the job. Potentially hazardous chemicals will be used; so individual must adhere to use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and good laboratory practices. We will work with the candidate on scheduling during the academic year to avoid classroom conflicts.
Summer program will also involve participation in Lexmark student activities and performing a project for presentation at the August student symposium.
