CIT Rail is an industry leader in offering customized leasing and financing solutions and a highly efficient, diversified fleet of railcar assets to freight shippers and carriers throughout North America and Europe. CIT is now a division of First Citizens Bank.

Our summer internship program is designed to provide the opportunity for you to apply classroom knowledge in our Rail division while delivering tangible value to the organization. Accountabilities can and may include areas such as research, analytics, projects, strategy, process review and improvement, as well as technology enhancements and support. Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking and community service events while having a dedicated manager and program manager to help you navigate the bank and the internship program.
  • Projects could encompass annual reviews of customer accounts (including a focus on spreading/analyzing financial statements and grading accounts), industry research, new business credit approvals, and supporting Rail's team of credit analysts.
  • Other functional projects from other Rail groups are also likely, including projects from Risk, Mechanical/Maintenance, Structured Finance, Business Process Implementation, and Financial Operations.
  • Each associate will work across the Rail organization to build their skills through tangible experiences within a leading equipment finance organization.
