Job Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to work with an experienced team of packaging development engineers to forward progress in bringing new packaging technology to reality by working with AMD supplier partners. Activities will include project scoping, supplier interaction, experimental data analysis, and communication through the greater AMD Packaging team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Product Development Engineers in scoping new development projects.
  • Evaluate and benchmark semiconductor packaging materials (substrates, thermal interface materials, adhesives, epoxy mold compounds, etc.)
  • Work with suppliers and internal team members to analyze experimental reports, apply improvements, and communicate status.
  • Interface with test, failures analysis, design, thermal, and product development engineers to further the project goals.

Desired Skills and/or Experience:

  • Electrical Engineering background.
  • Familiarity with packaging structure (advanced packaging platforms a plus).
  • Semiconductor & analog circuit knowledge. Particular interest in electromagnetic analysis for signal integrity.
  • Strong organizational, computer and communication skills.


  • Expected to range from [$30/hr. to $43/hr], commensurate with experience and specific skill sets. Benefits offered are described .


  • Bachelors, Masters, or CS/EE with relevant course work and project background
