DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Own the process of the 5-Why program for root cause problem solving.
  • Administer the NAPCO Safety program on the production shift level; including, but not limited to, conducting safety training, shift meetings, inspections, reporting, incident investigation and follow up.
  • Analytical with a passion for details, complete accurate and timely reports and paperwork including documents generated during shift including, but not limited to; Data pass, SAP Production Reports, SPC Charts, shift personnel's attendance, overtime and disciplinary events.
  • Problem solver, provide technical support to production team members.
  • Recommend alterations and redesign of equipment through the use of root cause analysis as they become either obsolete or in need of alteration or redesign.
  • You enjoy training others. Direct, Supervise and develop team members to meet or exceed goals and objectives such as production output, scrap rates, material utilization, and regrind usage.
  • Recommend promotions, demotions and disciplinary action of subordinates.
  • Direct, supervise and develop team members with regard to quality of the product to Westlake standards, to include testing and record keeping.
  • Oversee the effective and timely changeover of production lines to meet customer requirements.
  • Attend Supervisor meetings as required.
  • Lead by example taking ownership of total housekeeping of the plant during the work shift and enforce all housekeeping policies with team members.
  • You take pride in being the face of the company, conduct actions on the job with professionalism.
  • You excel as a leader, plan and coordinate the duties and responsibilities of all production personnel.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • HSED or GED required
  • 3-5 years' experience working in a production environment, understanding of PVC extrusion cause and effects preferred.

The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
