Behavioral Health Quality Improvement Coordinator (BH QI COORDINATOR)

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm


The role of the Behavioral Health QI Coordinator is to improve the quality and safety of health care our behavioral health FHCP members receive. This position will have the opportunity and responsibility to create project plans as well as collaborate with many other resources to improve processes. This role will be encouraged to research opportunities for improvement. Tools utilized will include the electronic health record, claims system, clinical informatics reports, national guidelines, NCQA standards, HEDIS specifications, CMS regulations and other applicable resources.

Education, skills and experience:

  • Florida licensed mental health counselor. Will consider registered nurse or practical nurse with current Florida Licensure.

  • Healthcare quality and performance improvement experience preferred.

  • CPHQ preferred.

  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations and accreditation standards preferred.

  • Knowledge of HEDIS and CMS Star measures, particularly behavioral health measures preferred.

  • Critical thinking, strong organizational skills, the ability to analyze data and prepare reports required.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.

  • Must be able to proficiently and effectively handle multiple priorities, projects and deliverables.

  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and work with physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff to support and achieve long-term performance improvement goals and objectives.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

  • Must be able to work independently and be flexible in meeting the demands within the department.
