What you will be responsible for:Basic Purpose:For a leading and rapidly growing Asset Management firm, the Investment Division is seeking to recruit for a new role, the Director of Global Derivatives Solutions, to guide the ongoing evolution of MFS's derivatives platform. This role will be responsible for providing the leadership, cohesion and horizonal alignment required to enhance the derivatives end-to-end operating model and investment capability to meet current and future regulatory, investment and client needs.Principal Responsibilities:
  • Define and maintain the strategic vision and structure for MFS's derivatives platform to support the ongoing development of MFS derivatives capabilities
  • Develop and implement operational and governance best practices for end-to-end lifecycle of derivatives trade
  • Work closely with derivative domain experts across the firm to build alignment across internal teams on development plans and practices
  • Partner with Investment Risk, Operational Risk, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Client Service and other teams to establish and strengthen firm-wide derivatives risk management practices
  • Partner with Investment Data Management, Global Trading, Global Investment Services and Technology on the selection and implementation of technology solutions to improve end-to-end lifecycle of derivatives trades
  • Manage derivatives counterparty relationships, in conjunction with legal, trading and broker relationship teams
  • Serve as a resource to help train and develop derivatives expertise across the firm to support the growth of MFS derivatives capabilities
  • Demonstrate practical application of derivatives for use in the MFS investment process, where applicable
  • Utilize new or existing relationships with buy-side, sell-side, and industry groups to gain perspective on derivatives trends and industry best practices; implement best practices where appropriate.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required
Job Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of derivatives related experience and deep expertise in investment, trading, and/or operational processes at buy-side, sell-side, or management consulting firms
  • Proven leadership experience in building and managing various aspects of a derivatives business
  • Strategic and innovative mindset and ability to build consensus in the face of ambiguity
  • Strong leadership. interpersonal and communication skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment
  • Independence of thought, intellectual curiosity, decision-making capabilities, and an entrepreneurial nature
