This position is responsible for delivering and evaluating Cognex multimedia product courses and other education resources for all major Cognex products. Work involves the following areas: classroom courses, customer site courses, online courses, instructional videos, student record keeping, and special projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Delivers prepared and engaging multimedia presentations to classrooms of up to 20 people in person and virtually

  • Facilitates guided lab exercises by providing feedback and coaching to students

  • Provides feedback for instructional design team and manager regarding course design

  • Possesses knowledge of setup and applications for all major Cognex products including but not limited to: DataMan, In-Sight, VisionPro, Cognex Designer, ViDi, and Ether-Inspect

  • Maintains classroom lab and computer equipment, including software updates and electrical troubleshooting

  • Enters student records into CRM

  • Arranges personal travel and lodging to regional sites and customer facilities to deliver Cognex product classes

  • Coordinates site booking, meal catering, equipment shipping, and materials order for on-site classes as needed

  • Takes direct responsibility and completes special projects assigned by manager

  • Creates polished instructional videos for external and internal consumption

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience creating presentations, videos, interactive tutorials and assessments for use in self guided training

  • Teaching by delivering engaging courses. Listens patiently to customers, and helps them achieve their learning objectives. Ability to explain complicated topics in a simple and tactful way

  • Proficiency with PCs, Microsoft 365 Suite and basic networking knowledge

  • Willing to travel to deliver on-site courses at regional and customer facilities

  • Able to provide and receive feedback, collaborate with, and assist other team members and other teams on daily work tasks and projects

  • Previous experience troubleshooting, setting up, or developing applications utilizing Cognex Equipment desired

  • Vision system knowledge: Basic knowledge of cameras and lenses a strong plus

  • Speaking and writing multiple languages is a strong plus based on region

Minimum education and work experience required:

  • Technical Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Experience in a similar role
