Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Worldwide is currently hiring adjunct faculty to teach MACY 510- Security Engineering and Management

Course Description

This course is designed to teach how cybersecurity should be integrated early on in any project or other use of information in a computer or network setting. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between information and the operation and mission of an agency, business, organization, or other entity. This course specifically ties together information and communications technology (ICT), cybersecurity, business, policies, and ethics. Topics include security engineering concepts (although this is not an engineering course), distributed systems, network attacks and defense, security management, encryption, the role of training and education, and more.

Please note that ERAU policy requires that all adjuncts be physically located within the United States while working for the University, including during training.Presently, we are able to support work for new adjuncts from all U.S. states exceptCalifornia.ERAU does not support work from international locations with some limited exceptions for individuals who are residing and working from U.S. military bases.

Qualifications

Applicant Qualifications

A minimum of a Doctorate degree in discipline is required (please see list of acceptable disciplines below), as well as relevant industry experience from within the last 7 years.

Applicable Professional Certification

  • Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)

  • CompTIA Security+

  • Specific industry, military or university training, or experience in aviation cybersecurity or general cybersecurity development or operations.

Degrees Within the Teaching Discipline

  • Cybersecurity and related cyber disciplines

  • Engineering (Aerospace/Aeronautical, Astronautical/Computer/

  • Electrical)

  • Computer Science

  • Information Technology and related information disciplines

  • Science (Aerospace, Astronautical, Aeronautical)
