Job Description

The Department of Sociology at Augsburg University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach introductory courses in Sociology during the 2023-2024 and 2024 - 2025 academic years. Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate level in person and during our Day schedule (between the hours of 7:50 am to 5:20 pm). Our greatest need is for instructors who can teach Introduction to Sociology. We have varying needs for the next 2 years for the following: Introduction to Urban Sociology; Family Systems; Race, Class, Gender; Introduction to Criminology, and Topics courses (that the Candidate can propose). Instructors are expected to respond to student questions through email and hold regularly scheduled office hours. This is a union position, covered by a collective bargaining agreement with SEIU. Three courses are possible.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Sociology or closely related field.
  • At least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework in Sociologyor closely related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Teaching experience at undergraduate level in Sociology or related field.
