MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Conduct real estate appraisals in support of client appraisal needs. Conduct market surveys and collect real estate sales information to support appraisals and asset valuation. Maintain cost data, gather and analyze sales information and farm rental information to support appraisal efficiencies. Maintain benchmarks. Responsible to see that appraisal costs are handled in the most cost-effective manner during the appraisal process.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
College degree in business related field or a minimum of three years of real property appraisal experience. Progressive rural appraisal experience is preferred. Formal appraisal training through professional membership in a professional appraiser's organization that is a member of the Appraisal Foundation. Designated or accredited title in a nationally recognized professional appraiser's organization that is a member of the Appraisal Foundation is preferred. Successful completion of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers advanced appraisal courses or equivalent courses. Advanced understanding of and ability to apply the general appraiser proficiencies.
Must be a state certified general appraiser who has satisfied the requirements for certification by a state or territory whose requirements for certification currently meet or exceed the minimum criteria for certification issued by the Appraisal Subcommittee of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council.
Annually obtain continuing education credits as required by the state licensing and certification board for annual recertification of the certified general appraiser status in appraisal subjects and which carry recertification credit with one of the appraisal organization members of the Appraisal Foundation.
Sound technical and computer background desired including experience in computerized rural and residential appraisal reports, word processing, and spreadsheets. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to plan, organize, and complete assignments. Knowledge of common agricultural practices.
