Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Optical Metrology Division products are used for optical overlay metrology. The portfolio of products includes unique solution packages which are based on hardware and software systems to enhance yield and effectiveness. As a world leader in its field of expertise, the division's products are the most advanced in performance (measurement accuracy of nanometers and below), reliability, ease of use and compatibility with other KLA's products. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

About MicroSense

MicroSense, LLC () is a fast growing high tech company that designs and manufactures precision capacitive sensors and OEM metrology modules, based on patented capacitive sensing technology, to make very precise, high bandwidth measurements of precision products such as solar wafers, sapphire wafers, hard disk drive motors, air bearing spindles, precision X-Y stages, optical disks, automotive parts and machine tools. Our capacitive sensors provide the highest resolution in the industry, less than 0.05 nanometers, with exceptional stability and virtually unlimited service life, and are used by leading companies around the globe.

Electronics Test and Calibration Technician

The MicroSense team has an immediate opening for a full time Electronics Test Technician to electrically test capacitive sensor electronics assemblies, and calibrate them with precision capacitive sensors in our Lowell, Massachusetts facility. The technician performs operational tests on moderately complex electronics production components, and subassemblies. The technician also helps senior technicians to perform more complex tests. The technician reports to the Production Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Follows test specifications, test procedures and verbal instructions in order to perform a variety of, standard tests and calibration routines which require reading, interpreting and verifying specifications using test equipment setups.
  • Operates a limited variety of standard test equipment such including a computer controlled calibration station, voltmeter, oscilloscopes, etc. usually working with one piece of equipment at a time as specified.
  • Determines the pass/fail of electronic assemblies and sensors being tested by checking test results against specific test procedures and data sheets.
  • Performs simple troubleshooting activities, diagnoses minor deficiencies in equipment and recommends rework where necessary.
  • Prepares computer generated calibration certificates for equipment indicating that tested components, subassemblies and systems conform to predetermined standards and specifications.
  • Records test data and prepares test failure/acceptance reports and other paperwork as required, using a computerized database.
  • Assists senior technicians and engineers in performance of more complex electrical, environmental and vibration tests using additional standard test equipment.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Experience - Associates degree in electronic technology or similar and 2 -3 years testing electronics assemblies.
  • Ability to operate and use electronic instruments including oscilloscope, volt meters, frequency counter, and specialized testers, including laser interferometer based calibration station (calibration station training will be provided).
  • Ability to use MicroSoft Windows based software on PC to perform calibration procedure, including preparation of calibration certificate.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and accurately is required.
  • Electro-mechanical skills including proficiency in soldering (including no lead), use of basic hand tools for final enclosure assembly including screwdrivers, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience - Associates degree in electronic technology or similar and 2 -3 years testing electronics assemblies.

  • Ability to operate and use electronic instruments including oscilloscope, volt meters, frequency counter, and specialized testers, including laser interferometer based calibration station (calibration station training will be provided).
  • Ability to use MicroSoft Windows based software on PC to perform calibration procedure, including preparation of calibration certificate.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and accurately is required.
  • Electro-mechanical skills including proficiency in soldering (including no lead), use of basic hand tools for final enclosure assembly including screwdrivers, etc.
  • Ability to perform Mechanical assembly of Rack enclosures and other sub assemblies.
