ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

  • Fieldwork such as soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance;
  • Contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring;
  • Groundwater and soil remedial evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Data analysis, including preparation of site maps, hydrogeologic interpretation maps, tables, and figures;
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
  • Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, 40- hour OSHA, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house and external seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Approximately 50%, up to 75%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 90%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor's degree in geology or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (preferred)
  • Eligible for applicable professional registration upon meeting experience requirements.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of related experience in environmental consulting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel. (required)
  • Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation. (preferred)
  • Experience with ArcView, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS. (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
