Job Description
  • Work with the P-TECH & Early College Programs Executive Director to set the vision and mission for the P-TECH and Early College Programs Department, including strategic planning for student success on state and national assessments, and on industry recognized certification exams.
  • Develop progress monitoring systems, action plans, policies, and procedures that enable attainment of departmental operational targets.
  • Build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including principals, school staff, central office personnel, and industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor, review, and support the implementation of curricula for the P-TECH/ECHS programs (i.e., textbook selections, TSI preparation materials, MAPS curriculum, etc.) in alignment with the Common Instructional Framework.
  • Create and provide professional development for staff, administrators, and teachers of the assigned P-TECH/ECHS/Collegiate Academy campuses, ensuring incorporation of research-based best practices.
  • Support P-TECH/ECHS teachers with alignment of the instructional practices and resources required for Special Education, Bilingual/ESL, and/or Gifted and Talented students.
  • Coordinate district-wide P-TECH/ECHS events, project-based competitions for students, and extended day/year program activities.
  • Conduct classroom coaching visits and campus instructional rounds to facilitate implementation of P-TECH/ECHS professional develoment.
  • Serve as a conduit between internal and external departments to ensure alignment of support for the P-TECH/ECHS/ Collegiate Academy campuses.
  • Work with P-TECH/ECHS industry partners and campus-based workplace coordinators to develop specific instructional and work-based curriculum.
  • Assist with recruitment and retention of students, staff, and industry partners for P-TECH and Early College campuses.
  • Keep abreast of best practices, district initiatives, developing trends in P-TECH/ECHS programs, workforce initiatives, and legislative CCMR updates.
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned by the executive director or assistant superintendent.
  • All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (USA equivalent) required, Master's degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years of directly related experience in management, curriculum development, and professional development.
  • Demonstrated strategic, operational planning skills, and event coordination skills required.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point).
  • Demonstrated administrative ability to manage staff and resources.
  • Demonstrated exemplary skills in presentation, designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring projects/programs in accordance with specified guidelines and policies.
  • Knowledge and experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of project based learning.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work nontraditional hours including after school, evenings, and Saturdays.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
